 "Tamron AF 28-75 f 2.8" 2010-05-03
By R. Wright
I bought this lens thinking that an f 2.8 would allow a 28-75 lens to shoot telephoto without flash. It won't, even in sunlight.

"Love this lens over canon's l series" 2010-05-02
By Jason Phillips (Greensboro, NC USA)
A great lens for the more serious photographer, achieving the highly sought after f stop of 2.8 and with image stabilization. A great choice for those that don't enjoy spending twice as much to have a white canon L series lens!

 "Just What I needed." 2010-04-14
By Robert Cox (Ponca City, OK USA)
I needed a mid range f/2.8 zoom and checked out a bunch of them before purchasing this Tamron.

The lens is extremely sharp and the f/2.8 speed is just what I needed for stage and concert photography. It focuses fast, and never misses a lick.

Other than saying that I am more than happy what else is there?

 "Perfect Lens" 2010-04-08
By Randi Morse
I'd been told to get a Tamron lens - I was a bit worried. I tend to stick with brand names, and this was a lens that wasn't a Canon. But a few photographers had told me of the high quality of this lens so I got it, and I'm very glad I did. I can definitely see the difference between this lens and my other walk around lens - this one is much sharper and the photos require very little editing. And with the much lower price, I will definitely be looking to purchase a Tamron again!

 "Outstanding lens" 2010-03-31
By Matthew Herrmann
Most of the good reviews say exactly what I would say, so I'll save us all some time and get to the point. This lens is outstanding! I read every review on here, as well as additional reviews elsewhere to make sure I got the best lens for my money, and I did! I have a Canon 50D and wanted a lens for:

-Portraits

-Walk around

-Landscape

So far I've been very impressed with everything from the build quality of the lens to the auto focus, and picture quality. If you are looking for a fast, versatile zoom lens for under $500 you would be hard pressed to beat this lens. Before purchasing the Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 my primary lens was the Canon 50mm f/1.8. The 28mm on this Tamron actually surprised me at how wide it was. Like I said I am shooting a Canon 50D with a 1.6 fovcf so my 50mm was actually an 80mm and this 28-75 is actually a 45-135mm, and carries the f/2.8 all the way through. I have used this lens the last 3 days for a photography project at the University I work at, and have been extremely impressed.

 "Not for D3000/D5000" 2010-05-03
By Dan K
Let me be clear: This lens makes phenomenal photographs! A heads up to all the owners of the newer D3000 and D5000 cameras though. This lens will NOT auto focus with your camera body. It may not seem like a deal breaker but I believe it is. I suppose the manual focus would be acceptable for landscape photography but only using it for such photos defeats the purpose of having such a fast lens. While the lens makes for unbelievable photographs I strongly suggest that you spend your money on the more expensive, $200 35MM 1.8 lens. Your auto focus will work with that lens and your photos will be equally stunning.

"Excellent - must have lens" 2010-05-01
By cbeck44 (USA)
A required lens for any photographer interested in expanding the quality and range of their photos. Delivers stunning close-ups and works flawlessly (AF) with my D70. Requires a different style of shooting due to it's focal range and means more moving around to get the right shot. The small size and weight are also nice when handling the camera.

"Lovely lens for this price" 2010-04-19
By Hassan Ali (Lahore, Pakistan)
Great lens. Highly HIghly recommended. The only down side is that I did not do proper survey before buying and its AF only works with nikons that have focus motors built in and not cheaper cameras like the D5000 or the D3000. Even with that and only manual focus, I get very nice results. I will, howoever, try to sell this and get a DX one.

"Made me a better photographer" 2010-04-18
By M.S. (NJ United States)
I love this lens! I recently purchased the Nikon D90 with the 18-105mm kit lens, but I also purchased this lens with it because I'm more familiar with prime lenses on an SLR. It's been almost 2 weeks and ever since I began using the 50mm lens, the poor 18-105mm lens gets no play! Images are sharp, bright, and show high contrast. This lens instantly made me a better photographer. And at $125, it's an awesome value for the novice DSLR user. I can't wait to play around with it some more!

 "What's not to love" 2010-04-17
By SkinDiver
Finally purchased this to use on my D80 after reading "all" the reviews and for the price, who can complain! In a nutshell, this lens is a perfect addition to any kit offering great low light-fast shooting and excellent picture quality. I used this lens to photograph a new baby in the family and it worked perfectly in a dimly lit hospital room without a speedlight to avoid blinding "new" eyes. The picture quality is sharp and beautiful and the 50mm is perfect for those closeup shots. I also recently used this lens while traveling and found it worked great for low light no flash shots in an aquarium and historical buildings. The only downside to having a fixed lens is that I found myself changing the lens frequently for landscape or wide angle shots. Aside from low light shooting, my Nikon 18-200mm VR lens stayed on the camera for the majority of the trip. Overall, this is a great inexpensive lens that offers great low light/indoor flexibility and beautiful quality.
